O.M. – No Coincidence
In a world where artists, activists, and politics are constantly seeking freedom, we can finally enter this sacred realm of abundant liberty.
OM brings together two fearless improvisers: Canadian-Haitian musical polyglot Jowee Omicil and Cuban drummer and Berklee College of Music professor Francisco Mela.
Their collaboration is experimental, dynamic, and uncompromising - a meeting of rhythm, melody, and raw creative energy.
Drawing on the musical traditions of Haiti and Cuba, OM explores intricate rhythms, hypnotic grooves, and improvisational interplay. Omicil’s inventive lines on saxophones, clarinet, cornet, flutes, and piano push harmonic and melodic boundaries, while Mela’s drumming and rhythmic vision combine Afro-Cuban roots with modern free jazz, driving each performance with intensity and precision.
O.M. is a live, immersive experience where sound, spontaneity, and virtuosity converge. Audiences are invited to witness the chemistry of two masters creating in the moment, crafting music that is daring, vibrant, and unforgettable.
