Jowee Omicil’s live premiere of "Throw It Away" on December 16 at You & The Night & The Music by TSF Jazz at Salle Pleyel, Paris, was a night to remember. His arrangement of Abbey Lincoln’s timeless piece was a heartfelt tribute to the legendary artist, inspired by a profound encounter with her at Blue Note New York.
The performance was full of surprises and rich in creativity. Jowee’s unique blend of saxophone, Rhodes, pocket trumpet, and vocals constantly evolved, keeping the audience engaged with fresh, dynamic energy. Joined by Jonathan Jurion on piano, Yoann Darnier on drums, and Jendah Manga on bass, the musicians created a seamless synergy, elevating the performance to new heights and leaving the audience mesmerized.
